Vietnam Wall Memorial to be featured during Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (May 30, 2023) — Hy-Vee, Inc. in partnership with NTT INDYCAR SERIES will host the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) Vietnam Wall during Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend July 21-23. The AVTT Vietnam Wall will be featured as part of the event’s salute to veterans and military members during the Hy-Vee Homefront 250 presented by Instacart on Saturday, July 22. The Vietnam wall memorial will present throughout the weekend with race attendees welcome to visit the Vietnam Wall memorial beginning on Friday, July 21 through Sunday, July 23. The memorial will be located outside the Iowa Speedway entry gates and the wall is free for everyone to visit throughout the weekend.
The AVTT Vietnam Wall has been featured at more than 300 events across the United States over the last 15 years. Spanning nearly 400 feet, the wall represents an 80 percent scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and it contains the name of every veteran etched on the original memorial.

Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend will be held July 21-23 at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. Saturday, July 22 will be an all-day salute to United States veterans and military service men and women, culminating with the Hy-Vee Homefront 250 race presented by Instacart. The race is named for the company’s longtime initiative that supports veterans and military members.
Throughout the day on Saturday at Iowa Speedway, special events, displays and even the music and entertainment featured throughout the venue will honor veterans and pay tribute to military members for their service to our country.
The community message on Sunday, July 23 at Iowa Speedway will focus on combating hunger across the country with the running of the Hy-Vee One Step 250 presented by Gatorade. The race is named for Hy-Vee’s One Step program, which has supported Feeding America-affiliated food banks, clean water initiatives, packaged meals and reforestation efforts across the Midwest and all over the world.
